and yes, they've been quiet. and yes, i do feel good that we're on better terms. and like my mom pointed out, it's harder to be angry now that i see them as a young couple, rather than as the enemy.
it's been a busy week with school, as you can tell from my absence. i had a very frustrating 2 days at my clinical this week. it felt like my instructor was quizzing me more than she was teaching me. much more. apparently i wasn't prepared enough and it was frustrating. i'm not going to go into the details because i've ranted enough about it and i'm over it.
...well, i thought i was over being frustrated with myself, until yesterday when i was craving fruit perogies, and i thought i'd make some. well, i had forgotten that i had attempted to make them on 2 other occasions, both times failing miserably. so now it is written across my recipe card "DO NOT EVER MAKE THESE AGAIN." [but you know, i didn't throw the recipe away..] from now on, it's lazy-man's for me only. ....okay, here's something to make you laugh.... let's see if i can find it..... it's a pic of my very first attempt of cherry perogies that my roommate and i made when we lived in canmore....

hahaha! yes, they were supposed to be all the same size and shape...

good for you for trying to make them!!! ihave never made perogies, mainly because Steve;s Grandma makes the most amazing ones and I know mine will never compare
Julia...I'd forgotten about those perogies. Fun times. I think they came around the same time as the cinna-creations!

What?? Are you using Gramma's recipie? Other than the fact that when I make them with cherry pie filling I have lots of trouble making them seal, I've had no trouble with Gramma's recipie at all. I even made them eggless with Kat when she was here! Well, those ones weren't quite perfect, but still good. Call Gramma up and tell her you guys need to make perogies together, and you'll be an expert in no time.
I'm not really shocked that you talked to the girl for purely selfish reasons. You were still brave, though - you went and talked to people you didn't really care about seeing regularly in the hopes you could influence them to change a highly annoying behaviour. *shrug* You seem to have been successful!
I have never had fruit perogies. The only kind I like is the cheese ones. I love to eat them but I really should learn to make them one of these days.
You can come over and make lopsided perogies for me anyday! I need some mennonite food in my house!! The last time I had perogies were when Grandma R. stayed with us a couple days and made them for me! It is just so much effort and time and before you know it they are all gobbled up... Hey did you check out my scrapbook pages I have on my blog? I knew I would ALWAYS be your hero!!
You can cheat, you know. There are these weird plastic things that you put your dough over, then you fill the spaces where your perogies will be formed, put your second layer of dough over top, run a rolling pin over it, and Voila!, nicely shaped perogies. Easy peasy. All you have to do is find the perogy maker... oh, wait, I found one for you.
