it is spring

i love spring. it's my favorite season. it just has an anticipitory feeling to it... like school is almost over (tomorrow!), exams will be done soon, it's gonna be hot and summery and we won't need to wear jackets anymore and i can wear flipflops and skirts...
woohooo! i've always thought that summer was my favourite season, but i love anticipating good things. like parties and vacations. to me, that's half the fun. i took a different route home today, which involved walking around the big field which i believe i described to you last thursday. it's amazing what 1 week of warm weather and wind can do - the field looked completely dry and i could feel it tugging at me, daring me to try to cut across it again. but i remembered what ice-cold soggy shoes felt like and remained strong. i didn't trust its temptations. i wasn't about to fall for the same trick twice. and so, i went around. a butterfly fluttered around me and then a squirrel ran past and a bug landed on me. and then i almost stepped in some poo.

it is spring.

R and i went to king's park for a walk tonight.

this is a beaver enjoying the ice cold flooding red river.

the slow club. a club where people slow down, and recognize the good things, even the tiny seemingly insignificant things God can do. julia, you are in the slow club, even if you didn't know it! a butterfly, a squirrel, a bug, a beaver, and poo. hooray for the slow club. you could've just ran home and not even seen those awesome things that made your day interesting. but you didn't.
