my last exam was on friday. it went very well. they all did, now that i think about it. and now i am officially on holidays, as you can tell by the fishy on my counter up there.we've had one family gathering, where, after we had opened our real gifts, we played one of those white elephant gift exchanges, where i got to take home my very own super-shooter. yes, i plan to attempt to make shortbread with it tonight. R is excited, as he thinks this means that i'll be injecting chocolate pudding into everything. that does sound like a wonderful idea. this thing seems like one of those gifts that you get and never use - although my goal is to use it at least 3 times. wow, they sure made the weirdest things back in the 70s....
i hung out with some girls on friday, at the home of my dear dear friends who have a one-month old babe. but he's still sleeping about 2 hours at a time. i can't even imagine what that would be like. i've been over there two other times to help out the extremely-over-exhausted new mommy. surely, he has to start sleeping in longer intervals soon! last weekend, i went over to give mom a break, and he fell asleep in my arms as i was studying for an exam. i knew that if i put him down in his crib, he'd wake up, so i got to cuddle with the little cutie whilst i studied... it was wonderful.
of course, since my holidays began i've been quite busy doing. yesterday, i built 4 rollercoasters, a pizza stand and a few other amusement park rides (by definition, rollercoaster tycoon is no longer an "addiction" of mine, but still is a source of great pleasure when i allow it to be).
and i shed a tear or two, as i read about the passing of anne shirley's friend and how anne was given some love-letters that were written between her parents before they died.
yes, my friend, my holidays have been quite busy so far. and they've only just begun....
