i promised my sister some belly shots on my blog once i had something worth posting. i have been getting REALLY bloated by the end of the day, ever since i was 8 or 9 weeks along. but by the morning, my tummy would look all flat again (it would look flat, but i could feel a difference in my body since 4 weeks - even before the positive test). anyways... maybe a week or so ago i realized that my bloaty-belly wasn't disappearing by morning. so this is it! a real baby belly!! here's a pic for you... not the best one ever, but it kinda shows our Little One. oh, and the blue walls behind me there - that's going to be the nursery!
we went shopping for new clothes last week - maternity clothes for me and new clothes for work for R. fun fun fun! i bought a total of 5 tops and 1 pair of comfy pants (see above). i love that flowy tops are in style right now, because 3 of my new tops are non-maternity (see above) that i found at the le chateau outlet for super cheap. i was disappointed with the selection of pants out there, but was intrigued by the maternity belly bands that you can buy to hold up your non-maternity pants.
i don't like to pay for things that i can make myself, so i sewed

Yay BELLY!! Lookin good!
Those belly-bands are a nifty idea, too, and good job on making them yourself. Yay!
Looks great Julia!!! I've got 2 months left and I can feel with you about the bloating! I did buy one of those belly-bands since I can't sew and I LOVE it. Hope you enjoy yours before and after like I do!!! All the best!
so cute!! i made most of my own maternity pants as well, especially with Aidan (back when there were no cute clothes to buy!)
I also wore lots of low rise pants and non maternity shirts. Maternity clothes are way overprices anyways!!
enjoy your little belly!
Oh- soon enough will come the day that you WISH you were as "flat" as these photos!! Not that you are"flat". you are def. showing! oh this brings me joy! To see my little sweet cousin (haha) with a baby belly!!!! I think you are craving garlic toast. better go make some. Baby needs it.
I would sew triangles in the sides of the wastes of my jeans/pants out of t-shirt material. (until somehow my butt theighs grew too much...:( )
love the hair. did you get it cut shorter recently? I think I will need to find a really cheap hair dresser. I feel like I need to get it cut once a month now to keep it short. boo... plus, I found my first grey hair on friday. double boo. It must be the stress from having kids. :)
i updated my blog. are you happy now???? :)
Julia, you look fantastic! Love your updates. Hope you are feeling well along with your looking so well.
Love the belly shot! Very cute- I can't wait to see the comparison in the months to come! I'm so curious as to who's growing in there!!
Ramona
(who realized that when you are expecting through adoption it would be very possible to post growing belly shots too, but no one would say they were cute!)
Wow, you are very handy...and have a super cute belly!
Oh Julia, you are gorgeous! I'm proud of you for making your own belly band..it's something I always wanted to do.... =] I love that you tuck out worn clothes away into a sewing pile..teehee...and you actually get around to sewing with them..unlike those of the less ambitious sorts, such as myself!
Jules,
First of all, I'm dying over here. You look ADORABLE!!!! Aaahhhh!!! How cute are you? And congratulations to you and Ryan! How exciting. You two will be wonderful parents and I honestly couldn't be happier for you. Becoming a mommy has been the best thing in my life. I can't imagine anything better. You will love it. Awwww... a little Polinsky. :)
