a visual treat

believe it or not, wallpaper is making a comeback. and we're here to welcome it back. we picked out our paper way back in the fall and i ordered it on the day of my rn exam, when i had that lovely experience at home depot.

with the help of my parents, we spent HOURS measuring, figuring, cutting and hanging the paper in our entrance. while doing so, we discovered that our ceiling is 8" higher than we originally thought - making it 12'8". seriously. this is also caused mom and me to repeatedly go through cycles of thinking - oh no, we won't have enough - yes, it'll work - no, it won't work - yes, it just might. not only did we need that 12' ladder, we also needed dad to set up scaffolding for the wall about the stairs.

looking up into the entrance, from downstairs.

looking up. way up. 12'8" up.

it's really hard to get a good picture so here are a few different angles...

some wall art that i created.

a close-up. ahhh. a visual treat indeed.

Wow! You did a great job with that huge length of wall. It looks great and we can hardly wait to see it for real. Reminds me of our first kitchen in the early '70's....I love it!!

That looks so fantastic! I love that wall art too! What is it made of? It looks like metal or something. You both are such creative people. Love it!

Julia- his is perfect! Love it. And it's so "you guys". (I want it in mini print to scrap with) And cool wall art too. Wanna come repaint or paper my entrance now that you've mastered the wonderful hi entrance of a bi-level?

Actually i think we're putting off re-painting to invest in a little house on wheels aka a tent trailer to fit our whole family and gear... Nope no new news yet but we figure we may as well get used to the trailer already this year...
