i just came home from work. i now only have five 12-hour shifts left. ahhhhhhhh. what a nice feeling. my last day is jan. 29 and then i have about 4 weeks off with vacation days and stuff until the baby comes! yipee! i'm feeling okay, but i'll admit, i'm tired. not only because i'm 8 months pregnant, i would venture to guess that this is also because my blood sugar is totally out of whack [i've been checking my sugars, blood pressure and urine tests at work - since i do these things to my patients all the time, i may as well take advantage while i can.] for example, it was 2.6 before lunch today. hmmmm. much too low. and yes, i can feel it. so i'm going for the good ol' glucose tolerance test this next week. we'll see how it goes - i may just have gestational diabetes. or maybe my body is only having difficulty regulating my sugars when i'm running around crazy at work - since that's the only time i check. we'll see.
time to go cuddle on the couch with my hubby and a bowl of popcorn.

where is our pregnancy photo? Oh- I guess I have it. I'll have to post it so you can have a copy. I haven't even looked at the pics from my trip yet! Hang in there. You are ALMOST done!! Then you get to HOLD BABY!!!!! yipeeee!
Ick. My blood sugars also get wacky, and it does make you feel gross. I had the glucose tolerance test several years ago, but the doctor didn't really think it was a big deal that I go between 3 and 9, which I also did when testing on Beth's monitor. After doing lots of reading on reactive hypoglycemia, I have learned than the tolerance tests can induce weird results when you don't have as serious problems on a regular diet, so just keep that in mind, but I'm glad you're taking care of yourself! And you're not the only one in the family with odd blood sugars.

It's Amy Hiebs (Wiens) just checking in. My girlfriend here in Calgary is preggers and due same day as you, so it's exciting to watch the two of you with your first pregnancies. I've actually sent her some of your observations cuz they are deep. Hope all is well and all the best with the newest little one. We are not preggers, but we do have two new additions to the fam, we each got motorbikes! Okay fine, mine is a scooter but it's adorable!!! Just letting you know we are thinking of you.
