just the 2 of us [sort of]

we have survived february so far! with R giving out and marking exams, final projects, doing report card marks, teaching 2 new classes this semester, having musical rehearsals pretty much 6 days a week. then 4 performances last week - which went SUPER well by the way! - and a wind-up party on sunday. i've been able to take some vacation days so my last shift was at the end of january. so i've been home, watching a whole lot of olympics... GO CANADA GO!  (i just watched us win gold in snowboard cross!)

yesterday we celebrated valentine's day and went on one last pre-baby date, just the 2 of us [sort of]. let me tell you, it is very strange knowing when your baby is going to be born and planning around it. it was a holiday so we went out for a matinee and saw avatar - so good! - and then for dinner at joey's. it was so nice. i used to look at other couples who were out on a date and weren't really talking to each other at all and sarcastically think "wow, they sure look like they're having fun together." but sometimes that's us now. it's not like we've run out of things to talk about, but sometimes it's nice to just BE TOGETHER. we've been married for almost 7 years now and we're so glad that we've waited to have this baby. we've had so much "us" time and now we're looking forward to the change.

How wonderful that you are still feeling well enough to have had this date together! Things do change when baby arrives (as when any more arrive after that should your family grow more one day)but yet there are things that stay the same. I'm so happy you have a strong loving relationship and can't wait to see you guys as Mommy & Daddy. I look forward to seeing the post with baby in your arms, telling us who joined your family (I think baby's a girl). I'm praying for you THREE.

I woke up this morning and realized you'd been at the hospital for a while already. That is so exciting! I am really looking forward to the phone call! Yay!
