no more twentieth-grade-nothing

after 20 years of school, R is done!! his parents flew out here on monday to stay for a few days. first, R gave us all a tour of the school where he's going to be a teacher next year. and then we went to my parents' house for dinner and the evening. it was a busy few days!
the next day was R's graduation!! finally.... he is DONE! I am so very proud of him. the afternoon was filled with me giving them all (both sets of parents and all our grandparents) a tour of the nursing building where i have just one year left. the skills lab was open so they got to walk around in there and check it out which was pretty neat (until they all got a little weird and started poking and playing with everything. that's when i started to wonder if it really was a good idea to bring them all there. i suddenly felt like i was at day camp, with 7 campers, feeling responsible and not knowing if what they're doing is really a good thing. good thing the 'narcotics' drawer was locked up. or was it....?).
we spent the evening watersliding and hot-tubbing at the hotel. that was wonderful. it was really great to see R's parents again and i'm glad that we could show them the places that we talk about all the time.
